Carvery and cake experts, Farmhouse Inns are the go-to destination for families to gather together for tasty roasts, and their signature hand-baked cakes. With 63 restaurants across Britain, Farmhouse Inns is the perfect recipe of great quality and every-day value as Brand Manager, Beth Griffiths explains:

“At Farmhouse Inns, we believe in bringing people together around tables of brilliant food. Whilst we specialise in delicious carvery, it is also really important for us to find ways to bring in on-trend flavours as well, particularly in our dessert range.”

Constantly on the hunt for new tempting dishes, Farmhouse Inns hosts a quarterly bake off competition for its ‘cake-a-tiers’, who can enter their own unique recipes. It was here where the star of Farmhouse Inn’s new Best of Biscoff® range, the Big Biscoff® Cake, was born. Cake-a-tier, Erica Lord, explains how this decadent cake was developed:

“I wanted to include Biscoff® in my recipe mostly because of my children. We brainstormed ideas together and my nine-year-old son is obsessed with Biscoff® so there was only ever one option!”

“The Big Biscoff® Cake consists of our own baked in house toffee bases, layered with Biscoff® Spread and then coated in our rich vanilla frosting, mixed with even more Biscoff® Spread! To decorate, the outside is coated with Biscoff® Crumb for a deliciously crunchy texture and warmed Biscoff® Spread is then drizzled down the side of the cake. We finish with swirls of frosting and, of course, the iconic Biscoff® Biscuit.”

Erica’s ingenious new cake went on to win the cake-a-tier competition and she enthusiastically discusses what this meant to her: 

“It was amazing to win the competition and a big part of this was because I knew Biscoff® would sell really well, and I didn’t want us to miss out on this opportunity. To now see my cake across all Farmhouse Inns is just mind-blowing.”

After the seed for a Big Biscoff® Cake had been planted, it fell to Farmhouse Inns Development Chef, Ben Richardson-Hughes, to finalise the concept and work with Biscoff® to get their official Created With seal of approval. Ben comments on the significance of this coveted recognition:

“Having the Created With stamp gives credibility to our Biscoff® range, giving customers reassurance that we are delivering the much-loved taste and texture of Biscoff®. This has been invaluable in expanding our reach and getting people to try our new menu.”

Alongside the impressive Big Biscoff® Cake, Farmhouse Inns also offers two additional desserts, the Biscoff® Cheesecake and the Biscoff® Sundae, as Beth explains: 

“The Biscoff® Cheesecake is an irresistibly creamy cheesecake topped with the classic Biscoff® Crumb and Sauce. Then, we also have the Biscoff® Sundae which features crushed Biscoff® Biscuits and a delicious Biscoff® Sauce.”

Both Beth and Erica praise Farmhouse Inn’s partnership with Biscoff® with Beth elaborating the value of having a popular brand, like Biscoff®, on their menus:

“It is really important to have natural brand partnerships, like this one with Biscoff® on our menu. It is great for customers to see a brand that they love, in a place that love, as this generates so much excitement and is essential for brand building.”

“Biscoff® products are really flexible to use – we can use it as a spread, we can warm it up to drizzle it, we can serve biscuits on the side or to decorate - it is a really easy, versatile product.”
